Located in beautiful southern California, SDBC proudly holds one of the first Dachshund conformation specialties of the year. Earth Dog and Field Trials are held during the cooler months for this region for the comfort our participants. All of these events are filled with fun times for great dogs and their very special people. Through AKC sanctioned events the beauty, natural ability and instincts of the Dachshund can be observed, evaluated and scored. Our annual Puppy Match is usually held in during the Fall is a fun event for all! Date and information can be found on the Shows & Events page of this site. We offer a fun day of practice for young dogs, Junior handlers and new exhibitors. And, not to forget a fabulous potluck luncheon!  - NEW MATCH DATE! Check the Shows & Events page for more information!

These fun and exciting venues give us the opportunity to work with our dogs while enjoying the wonderful experience and journey that can only be known through owning a Dachshund or, more correctly stated, having a Dachshund that owns you!

(Posted from PetPac)

By the narrowest of margins, California Senate Bill 250, the mandatory spay and neuter bill, yesterday passed out of the Senate with a bare minimum majority of 21 votes. The bill now goes on the Assembly.
This statewide California mandatory spay and neuter bill supported by HSUS and PETA is irresponsible and inhumane legislation and we need your help to defeat this bill and protect our pets. Let me be very clear:

SB 250 will result in more dogs and cats being killed and cost taxpayers millions.

Go to PetPac and sign petition against this legislation NOW!
