| Located in beautiful southern California, SDBC proudly holds one of the first Dachshund conformation specialties of the year. Earth Dog and Field Trials are held during the cooler months for this region for the comfort our participants. All of these events are filled with fun times for great dogs and their very special people. Through AKC sanctioned events the beauty, natural ability and instincts of the Dachshund can be observed, evaluated and scored. Our annual Puppy Match date will be in July - actual date to be announce later. We will continue to offer a fun day of practice for young dogs, Junior handlers and new exhibitors. And, not to forget a fabulous potluck luncheon! These fun and exciting venues give us the opportunity to work with our dogs while enjoying the wonderful experience and journey that can only be known through owning a Dachshund or, more correctly stated, having a Dachshund that owns you! Principles of the Club to promote the popularity and best interest of the Dachshund and to support the breed ...... to unite individuals who may care to associate themselves in the promotion of the popularity of the breed; to foster, encourage and promote the owning, [responsible] breeding, raising, training and exhibiting of the Dachshund... to authorize, sanction and hold Specialty shows, sanctioned matches and puppy matches ...... to promote honorable conduct both in the ring and elsewhere, to promote the free exchange and ideas of breeders as to breeding and exhibiting and, in general, to do any and all things deemed necessary and advisable in the furtherance of the objects and purposes hereinabove stated.
As responsible breeders, the members of SDBC breed in accordance to the Official AKC Standard of the Dachshund.
Don't forget Valentine's Day | |
